Elevate Science
Building confident teachers & engaged scientists.
Elevate Science supports schools and districts in strengthening science instruction through standards alignment, curriculum support, teacher coaching, professional development, and leadership partnership. Services are designed to help educators feel more confident, create clearer instructional systems, and provide students with meaningful opportunities to engage in science.
Why Science
MATTERS
Strengthening Science Instruction with Purpose
Science instruction is often one of the first areas reduced when schools feel pressure to increase reading and math achievement. While the intention is understandable, the long-term impact can be significant. When students receive limited science instruction, they miss daily opportunities to build curiosity, problem-solving skills, academic vocabulary, critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world understanding.
Meaningful science instruction is not separate from literacy and math growth. Science gives students a reason to read, write, question, measure, observe, explain, defend ideas, analyze information, and make sense of the world around them. When science is taught consistently and intentionally, it strengthens academic thinking across content areas while also helping students develop confidence as learners.
A lack of strong science instruction can create gaps that become harder to close over time. Students may enter tested grade levels without the background knowledge, vocabulary, inquiry skills, and confidence needed to engage deeply with science concepts. Teachers may also feel unprepared or unsupported when they are expected to teach standards that require planning, hands-on learning, content knowledge, and aligned resources.
Elevate Science exists to help schools make science instruction meaningful, manageable, and sustainable. Through standards alignment, curriculum support, teacher coaching, professional development, and leadership partnership, schools can create a stronger foundation for science learning every day.
Services Offered
Elevate Science provides targeted support designed to strengthen science instruction, improve curriculum alignment, and build teacher confidence across grade levels. Services may be provided through district-level support, campus-based support, or a customized partnership model based on school and district needs.
Standards-Based Alignment
Elevate Science supports schools in aligning science instruction to the Arizona Science Standards so teachers have greater clarity around what students need to know and be able to do. This may include reviewing current curriculum resources, identifying gaps, clarifying priority standards, supporting vertical alignment, and helping teachers plan instruction that reflects state expectations.
Professional Development
Professional learning is designed to be practical, focused, and connected to the realities of classroom instruction. Elevate Science offers district-level, campus-based, grade-level, new teacher week, and summer professional development focused on science standards, curriculum alignment, instructional planning, tested-grade expectations, and effective science teaching practices.
Curriculum Support
Strong science instruction begins with clear and manageable curriculum systems. Elevate Science supports schools and teams with curriculum planning, pacing guides, Year-at-a-Glance documents, scope and sequence development, GVC review, and supplemental resource needs. This work helps teachers feel more confident about what to teach, when to teach it, and how to organize instruction across the year.
Assessment & Data Support
Elevate Science supports teachers and administrators in using assessment and data to guide instruction. This may include reviewing assessments for standards alignment, supporting formative assessments, developing performance tasks, analyzing student work, identifying instructional gaps, and using data to plan next steps for science learning
Instructional Coaching
Elevate Science provides practical coaching support that helps teachers strengthen science instruction in real classrooms. Coaching may include model lessons, observations, feedback conversations, co-planning, lesson structure support, classroom routines, and support with managing hands-on or collaborative science activities. The goal is to build teacher confidence while making science instruction more engaging and manageable.
Tested Grade-Level Support
Elevate Science provides targeted support for 5th and 8th grade science due to state testing expectations. This support focuses on strong instruction rather than test preparation alone. Services may include standards unpacking, pacing support, review of tested standards, identification of prerequisite skills, curriculum gap analysis, and coaching or planning support for tested grade-level teachers.

Who Elevate Science Supports
Designed for Schools Ready to Strengthen Science
Elevate Science partners with schools and districts that believe science instruction should be more than an occasional activity or something reserved for tested grades. Support is designed for elementary, middle, and K–8 schools seeking to strengthen daily science instruction, build teacher confidence, and create systems that support long-term success.
Whether schools are looking to improve standards alignment, provide meaningful professional development, support new teachers, strengthen tested grade-level instruction, or create greater consistency across classrooms, Elevate Science works alongside principals, instructional coaches, teacher leaders, and district teams to provide practical solutions that meet the unique needs of each school. The goal is not simply to improve science instruction, but to help schools create a culture where curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful learning are valued every day.
Expected Outcomes
Building Capacity for Lasting Impact
The goal of Elevate Science is not simply to provide temporary support, but to build the systems and teacher capacity necessary for sustainable growth. Through standards alignment, instructional coaching, professional development, and leadership collaboration, schools can expect greater clarity around science standards, increased teacher confidence, and stronger instructional practices across grade levels.
As teachers gain support and develop a deeper understanding of science instruction, planning becomes more intentional, curriculum resources are used more effectively, and professional conversations become more meaningful. Schools benefit from stronger alignment, improved collaboration, and increased consistency between classrooms.
Most importantly, students benefit from engaging science experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific literacy. Meaningful science instruction helps students become active learners who are better prepared to understand and navigate the world around them. By investing in teacher capacity and instructional systems, schools create lasting change that extends far beyond a single year or initiative.
Elevate Science is committed to building confident teachers and engaged scientists by creating systems that make meaningful science instruction manageable, sustainable, and impactful for every student.
